News and Events:Press releaseBlack Box at IBC: Secure, flexible and instantaneous - KVM technology and 4K extension for broadcasting and post-production facilitiesHallbergmoos, 2 September 2015 - The network and IT infrastructure expert Black Box will exhibit again this year at the IBC in Amsterdam from 11 to 15 September 2015 in Hall 8, Stand E32. Visit www.black-box.eu/IBC to get full details on Black Box’s presence at IBC 2017. Black Box will present the latest KVM solutions for workflow optimization in the broadcasting and post-production areas, including control rooms. The comprehensive Black Box portfolio for broadcasting and post-production offers customized solutions for all requirements and applications, and is used, amongst others, by ProSieben Sat.1 and RTL, and public broadcasters such as ZDF.With more than 55.000 visitors from 170 countries, the IBC is the premier annual event for professionals engaged in the creation, management and delivery of entertainment and news content. "Even in film, TV and radio production, the trend towards higher resolutions – 4K – is being pushed through. At the same time, reliability must be guaranteed at any time, especially in broadcasting", says Axel Bürger, authorized officer of Black Box Germany GmbH. "Our reliable 4K-extension devices address exactly these requirements, combined with a high ease-of-use." In that way, Black Box introduced the new DCX3000 a 30-port high-performance matrix for fast and secure switching of digital HD video, audio and USB. Up to 23 target CPU’s and many users can be connected with this device over distances of up to 50 meters. Unlike other KVM systems, DCX3000 transmits each video image pixel by pixel - without compression and without latency! This makes the DCX3000 particularly suitable for the broadcasting environment, with its requirements for high quality graphics and enables perfect video-synchronization on different displays. The redundant power supply ensures a high level of reliability. For the first time the new keyboard/mouse switch Freedom II will be presented at IBC: The flexible device improves user station ergonomics significantly, since 4 keyboard/mouse sets can be replace by a single one. With the "Switch & Glide" feature, users are easily able to switch quickly and efficiently between the connected systems by moving the cursor from one screen to another. The switch is available with a redundant power supply for mission-critical situations where automatic failover is necessary. In this way, it is particularly suitable for use in the studio and playout areas. Also designed for the high demands of modern broadcasting installations, is the digital DKM FX matrix switch, which supports device-to-device fibre links up to 10 kilometres and CATx links up to 140 metres between studio and media servers. This not only allows easy KVM extension of numerous video formats up to 4K via DisplayPort modules, but also arbitrary constellations of the matrix switch. Furthermore, power supply and link redundancy ensure highest availability. Together with the wide range of supported video formats and peripherals, and the fastest signal switching DKM FX is the ideal matrix switch even in critical environments such as the playout center or live broadcasting area. Its external control options via RS-232 or TCP/IP also enable optimal integration f.e. with matrix switch controllers for fully-automated studio control. Designed for the high requirements of broadcast control rooms, the Agility is a versatile device for digital switching, extension and distribution of video, audio, serial and USB signals. The Agility migrates flexibly from a point-to-point extension to a KVM matrix with an unlimited number of users. Simply use an additional receiver per user to combine digital video, audio and USB from various sources. The Agility system can be easily configured and managed via the iPath control unit. Through the convenient dashboard, administrators keep track of the transmitters and receivers, define new content channels, manage access rights and configure devices. The VNC host, integrated in the transmitter, also enables remote access via the internet in Full HD resolution for maintenance purposes. The 4site Flex provides control and real-time monitoring for up to four PC’s from one console. This classic four-port KVM switch also features simultaneous monitoring of up to four different computer video sources on a single screen. The 4site Flex offers extension of full HD video at 60 fps in Picture-in-Picture, Window, Quad and Full Screen mode. The device supports various video modes including HDTV up to 1920x1200, allows transparent USB 2.0 and is compatible with many touchscreens. InvisaPC™ bridges the gap between IP-based KVM extension and switching applications and access to virtual machines. Use an InvisaPC receiver as a direct portal to virtual machines, especially Microsoft RDP 7.1 and RDP 8, to redirect digital video, USB keyboard and mouse, audio and vUSB to distant users over IP. The IP-based system has extremely low bandwidth requirements with maximum 35 Mbps for 1080p motion picture resolution. The low bandwidth requirements enable extension over the Internet with very low latency and sharing over corporate networks.
